Richmond Youth Foundation
The Richmond Youth Foundation (RYF) exists to serve as a voice for youth in Richmond. When provided with the appropriate resources, we believe that youth are fully capable of addressing the issues they care about. Insufficient funding should never be a reason why a great initiative fails to prosper. We welcome creative thinking, thrive on youth leadership, and fund bright ideas.
We are the youth branch of the Richmond Community Foundation which has been serving the city for more than 25 years, providing over $500,000 in grants. Our role is to fund community projects that benefit youth, either as the project organizers or beneficiaries. The money we grant comes from our endowment fund – an account we’ve built through our own fundraising efforts and donated capital. We encourage youth leaders to submit proposals for positive community initiatives they would like to carry out in Richmond. When we come across an idea that aligns with our mission, vision & values, we provide grant money to bring the idea to life! We’re all about clear and simple granting. Our application process makes it easy for youth to tell us about their ideas, and get funding sooner than they would by seeking corporate sponsorship.
RYF also acts as a hub for youth philanthropy in Richmond. We do this by connecting youth with a variety of local non-profit organizations who may have common philanthropic interests.
